At Jones International University, Level-2 field experience is student teaching. It is a required component of the M.Ed. Teacher Licensure degree that prepares students to become licensed teachers. Students apply their knowledge and expertise of curriculum design, instructional strategies, classroom management, and assessment approaches to a K–12 educational setting in a public institution. Mixing field observation experiences and full-time teaching, candidates have the opportunity to utilize standards-based educational theories and practices daily in real-life teaching and learning environments. EDU605A and EDU605B are project-based courses in which students practice teaching in a public school in their "endorsement area" and produce a job-ready portfolio.
